Electronic Smoking Devices: That Cloud Is Not Just Water Vapor
January 4, 2019 | by admin
Electronic smoking devices (ESDs) go by names such as e-cigarettes, e-hookahs, hookah pens, vape pens, and mods. They come in many shapes and sizes. ESD devices heat liquid to create an aerosol of nicotine and other chemicals that users inhale into their lungs.
According to the California Healthy Kids Survey, 2015-16 main report, 58% of Solano County 11th graders reported it is “fairly easy” to “very easy” for students to get ESDs. The 2016-17 main report shows that 31.7% of 11th graders in Solano County used an ESD. Studies find that youth who have used ESDs are 7 times more likely to smoke traditional tobacco cigarettes a year later.
